global warming art -- hurricanes01

So hurricane season stretches on into November. Are we surprised? Is this part of the new climate change or global warming. This year the hurricanes have seemed lighter, but we do know that extreme weather is part of the complicated warming cycle we find ourselves in. There is plenty going on that says... things just aren't normal.... Droughts, floods, fires, huge storms. So what do we do... ? Everyone knows now, that we MUST by more environment savvy and sensitive. That's been a given for years. What are you doing to make those changes? It isn't easy is it. My husband and I have just bought a small farm and plan to begin our trip on the road to more natural resources for our survival. But not everyone can do this. So it pays to start looking at the funding available for improving your environmentally healthy home. It will also pay off in improved health for you. Please note any websites that are particularly helpful on making simple but substantial changes in your own home. We want this site to be a resource for every kind of support through this real global crisis, besides being an artistic inspiration. We welcome your interest and comments. There are prints and cards available of all the global warming art that will be displayed here. If you are interested in ordering anything, please check out www.artbycoralee, or write to artbycoralee@cascatawinery.com . You may also leave your email on this blog and I will reply to you. All money received from the global warming art will be used to create the farm as an environmentally safe haven. We will post regularly the project that we are currently working on and share with you all aspects of that process so that you may duplicate them yourselves. Best, Coralee and Jon
Todays painting is hurricane02. It was painted with the "weather station" in mind and the pictures they constantly show. Please watch for the next painting: hurricane01

Award winning art

This is the first of a long series (in progress) of global warming related art. It is called Palm Tree and Fish 1. This is a tongue in cheek first try at explaining how I view what we are already beginning to experience. I spend time in the Florida Keys and was there shortly after a major hurricane had put all of Marathon under water. The poor palms were suffering from the salt diet of sea water. So I thought it would be fun to imagine if they decided to adapt to a possible new environment. I think the fish really enjoy their company. What do you think?

What do we know about adaptability to such major changes. Very little yet. I do not like to think of change as simply distruction of the tried and true but as having some "possibilities" too. This is the first of many submissions.

I welcome original ideas for paintings to develop in my collection.

I welcome opportunities to set up a global warming art show of my work at any gallery or appropriate location.

Hope to hear from you.

Best, Art by Coralee
